As part of the UWTSD Group, Coleg Sir Gâr and Coleg Ceredigion play a crucial part in our vision to offer a strong and innovative educational group structure for South West Wales, incorporating both further and higher education.
Within the group structure Coleg Ceredigion and Coleg Sir Gâr will continue to offer a wide range of high quality vocational and academic further education, work based learning, adult and community learning that encourages and facilitates progression into employment, apprenticeships and higher learning across all campuses.
Both colleges take a leading role in 14-19 developments in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion alongside local Education Authorities and Schools. Furthermore both organisations have strong collaborative links with business, the arts and other regional organisations and developing its curriculum in partnership with local employers and serving their needs and strengthening the local economy.

Coleg Sir Gâr is a large, multi-site, Further Education College. The College is part of the University of Wales: Trinity Saint David Group. The College is based in South West Wales and has five main campuses at Llanelli (Graig), Carmarthen (Pibwrlwyd and Jobs Well), Ammanford and Llandeilo (Gelli Aur). Campuses vary in size and nature and offer a variety of subjects. It offers further education, adult and community learning, higher education and work based learning.
The College has approximately 10,000 learners of which some 3,000 are full time and 7,000 are part time and there are over 900 higher education learners. It also provides for large numbers of 14-19 school pupils (around 1000) who attend the College or are taught by College staff at their schools.
The College has a broad range of academic and vocational education and training programmes. These range from pre-entry to postgraduate level, providing a service for the whole learning community. It also offers its provision on-line, via partnerships at community locations and in the workplace. The College has an annual turnover of around £30m and employs over 850 staff.
Coleg Sir Gâr can help employers develop their workforce by assessing training needs and providing quality training programmes. These can be tailor made to meet business needs including the timing and location of the training. Practical support is also available in the form of work based training programmes such as Foundation and Modern Apprenticeships. In addition, the expertise and resources of the College are available through knowledge and technology transfer, to assist businesses with innovation and product development.
