UWTSD to host an audience with Eddie Izzard, organised by BAFTA Cymru and Into Film Cymru, in the Alex Reading Room, on Thursday, June 30

UWTSD is proud to be hosting an audience with the acclaimed writer, actor and comedian Eddie Izzard, who spent some of his early years in South Wales. 

The event will take place in the University’s Alex Reading Room in Swansea on Thursday, June 30.

Eddie Izzard joins BAFTA Cymru nominee and Into Film Ambassador, Celyn Jones, for an intimate conversation about his film and television career to date. 

Eddie's film work includes Valkyrie, alongside Tom Cruise and Oceans Twelve and Thirteen opposite Brad Pitt and George Clooney. He has appeared as Long John Silver in the SKY TV Drama, Treasure Island and also as Anthony in BBC 1's Emmy Award Winning drama Lost Christmas. He recently appeared in the US hit drama Hannibal and will be seen on the big screen later this year in the remake of Whisky Galore.  

Eddie and Celyn have worked together as co-stars in Castles in the Sky and recently as Co-Writers on his Eddie's first screenplay Six Minutes to Midnight, which is aiming to shoot next year. 

Dr Ian Walsh, Dean of Art and Design at UWTSD said : “UWTSD is delighted to welcome BAFTA Cymru's Audience with Eddie Izzard to the Reading Room in Swansea College of Art. In recent years, the historic Reading Room has become the stand out venue for debate in the arts in Swansea.”

The event will be attended by local schools and colleges which engage with Into Film and BAFTA members and there are a small number of public tickets available via the www.bafta.org/wales website.
