Cardiff is Europe’s youngest capital city and it has a wealth of history and culture.
Over the last 20 years it has seen significant Investment in the arts, sports and shopping centres making it a wonderful place to live and study. In addition to all this Cardiff is brimming with cultural events that offer a lively and varied social life.
All the courses weekly activities are held in “The Gate” in the Roath area of the city. Here, there are a number of multipurpose spaces including an excellent theatre, two dance studios with purpose built flooring, and a rehearsal studio.
In addition to this, there is a cafe/bar there in which to relax and socialise. As a result of our location the students can take advantage of the Partnerships we have with the Wales Millennium Centre and BBC Wales.
The Centre provides constant opportunities for students to perform, use rehearsal spaces, receive tickets to see dress runs and reduced tickets to see shows regularly. The relationship with the BBC enables the students to gain experience of working on the professional set of Pobl y Cwm in Tiger Gate as well as periods of work experience for individuals.
In addition to these experiences a number of television companies are based in the city that are constantly looking for contributors and they now turn to Canolfan Berfformio Cymru for young actors and singers.
Cardiff is a lively city full of hustle and bustle that gives a very exciting way of life. There are so many opportunities available and you don’t have to go far to visit the library, to buy resources or watch shows in places such as the Millennium Centre or the New Theatre.
