Armed Forces Community Covenant

Armed Forces Community Covenant

Leaving the Forces? Thinking about education........

At Trinity Saint David we recognise and celebrate what personnel serving in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces do for all of us in the wider community.

We are proud to be signatories to the Armed Forces Community Covenants in both Carmarthenshire and Swansea and are working with partner organisations to ensure that no serving or retired member of the Armed Forces whether Regular, Reserve or veterans, nor their families, should be disadvantaged as a result of serving their country and should receive fair and proper treatment in recognition of what they have done for all of us.

Why UWTSD?

University of Wales Trinity Saint David is the University for South West Wales; we have campuses in Carmarthen,Lampeter and Swansea which means an even broader range of learning opportunities for you to choose from delivered in the heart of Swansea.

We are the first dual sector University as we are working in partnership with both Coleg Sir Gar and Coleg Ceredigion.

What this means to you is that, with such a wide range of opportunities, we can hopefully offer you both a course and a learning experience to suit you and which reflects your needs. We have an excellent record of working with mature students across all our campuses.

University of Wales Trinity Saint Davi is registered with the MoD’s Enhanced Learning Credit Scheme so you can find out about our courses on the ELCAS website - www.enhancedlearningcredits.com or have a look at ours on this website.

Support for you....

We understand that you may have been out of formal education for some time.  We have ex-armed forces personnel currently studying with us and they have told us that accessing a University course can seem confusing and complex so we have made help available.

As part of our commitment to supporting the Covenants, we have a named contact to provide information, advice and guidance to help you choose the right course, work through your financial entitlement and support the application process.

If there are other areas of your life which need support, we can signpost the relevant agencies as they are our partners in the Covenants.  For general information on the application process for mature applicants and support available, please refer back to our Mature Students section.
