Trailer Training and DVSA Test - 27 November

Trailer Training and DVSA Test - 27 November

Overview
This course will cater for 12 students structured into two groups of 6. Each student will be required to attend 2 full days over a five day period.

The first group of 6 students will attend Monday of week 1 with 2 of these students returning on the Tuesday, another 2 of these students returning on the Thursday and the final 2 of these students returning on the Friday of that same week all for their second full day of training and the DVSA test.

The second group of 6 students will attend Monday of week 2 with 2 of these students returning on the Tuesday, another 2 of these students returning on the Thursday and the final 2 of these students returning on the Friday of that same week for their second full day of training and the DVSA test.

Each student’s second day will be confirmed 14 days prior to attending day 1 and cannot be amended.

The first day will cover an initial class room briefing session setting out everything the student needs to know about the B+E test and what standard is required from them to pass this test first time. They would then be trained on all the reversing, uncoupling/ re coupling, loading, securing and all other safety aspects of off road trailer use. We would also plan to take the candidates out on the road for a short introduction to what is required on the road for the B+E test. There will be 2 instructors running the course on day 1 with 3 students per instructor.

The students will all have a class room feedback session at the end of the first day so that they know exactly where they are up to for when they come back in for their second day of one to one training and test. The feedback session will be based on dash cam footage of their driving and they would also take away a report of where they are up to and some training material ready for their next session later that week.

Day 2 will be on a one to one basis as there is a lot of on road training to get through. The students will also get to practice the reversing exercise and the uncouple recouple exercise several times in the exact same order as they will on test. There will be a lot of mock test situations on that day. All of this training will be carried out at our very own DVSA approved customer test centre where they will sit their test at the end of that day.

A certificate of attendance is issued by Coleg Cambria & Tilston Training.
