Drone Surveillance for the Construction Industry (am)

Overview
Construction employees will learn how the use of aerial drones has become a method to innovatively survey construction sites. With the built in technology the drone can take pictures and video footage of construction sites at safe altitudes which can be used by the construction company for logistical and commercial purposes.

On successful completion of the activity you will have an understanding of:

Their commercial applications (what can they be used for)
Rules, Permissions & Regulation of using drones
Review and use of drone footage and photographs.

Certification
A certificate of participation is issued by Coleg Ceredigion at the end of the session.

Course Content

The course consists of:-

Theory (Classroom) - Approx 45 mins to 1 hour

• Brief History of Drones

• A look at the drone and all of the hardware (drone, props, batteries, remote console, camera, etc)

• Software requirements for safe flights (weather apps, flight maps and charts, etc)

 

Practical (Outdoors on location) - Approx 2 / 2.5 hours

• Setting up for flight

• Safety

• Getting the drone to fly a pre-set flight (mapping)

• Taking Photographs for media

• Taking Video for media
