Our staff are really passionate about what they teach!

We are a University focused on Teaching and Learning. We are 5th in the UK for good personal relationships with teaching staff, 6th in the UK for tuition in small groups, and 8th in the UK for helpful interested staff and high-quality lectures.

92% of UWTSD students at the School of Architecture, Built and Natural Environments agreeing that staff have made the subject interesting – NSS 2016.

98% of UWTSD students at the School of Automotive Engineering agreeing that staff are good at explaining things – NSS 2016.

97% of UWTSD students at the School of Logistics and Manufacturing Engineering agreeing that staff are enthusiastic about what they are teaching – NSS 2016.

96% of UWTSD’s BEng (Hons) Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering students agreed that they have been able to access specialised equipment, facilities or rooms when they needed to – NSS 2016.
