This module focuses on encouraging participants to examine a range of different leadership styles, behaviours and traits from theory and apply to practice.

The following areas will be covered during the module:

  • Addressing the needs of the organisation through the development of leadership skills.
  • An introduction to leadership theories and to discuss behaviours and interpersonal skills that the learner can relate to in their workplace.
  • A psychometric tool designed to raise awareness of your personal approach to managing working relationships will provide deeper insight and meaning into your own and others’ behaviour.

This course is particularly suited to those in a position of management or leadership within their organisation as well as those aspiring to becoming manager or leaders of the future.

This module will help you gain greater self-awareness and develop more effective interpersonal skills in order to engage and lead people effectively, resulting in greater organisational effectiveness.

  • The written assignment will introduce leadership theories or models and you will evaluate their appropriateness to your workplace.
  • Your own personal leadership styles and behaviours will be explored, and a personal development plan created which will focus on developing interpersonal skills and leadership behaviours.
  • It is important to note that during your period of study you will be supported by a designated tutor.
  • Once you have successfully completed the module you will gain 30 credits that you can put towards further study.
