Our Mentoring and Coaching in the Workplace module provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills to coach and mentor effectively, creating a more flexible approach to addressing the fast-moving requirements of today’s workplace.

Duration: 4 days taught sessions

By the end of this module, learners will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles of effective work-based coaching and mentoring. They will also:

  • Have an understanding of coaching theory and sound principles of coaching practice
  • Know how people learn and the key issues associated with coaching in the workplace
  • Understand coaching models, styles, tools and techniques
  • Learn the benefits of coaching and mentoring to the organisation and individuals
  • Reflect on own performance and produce a development plan

This module is relevant to any experienced member of the organisation in particular those who are currently informally mentoring or coaching others and/or would like to implement this process into their organisation.

  • Coaching and mentoring can boost business by developing existing staff and attracting new talent.
  • This can easily be woven into the organisational culture to improve communication, performance and retention and can support learning at work and change management.
  • Enhance the performance of their employees
  • Portfolio of evidence of effective coaching activity
  • An observed coaching session
  • A reflective essay on your coaching performance in the workplace, areas for improvement and a personal development plan
  • It is important to note that during your period of study you will be supported by a designated tutor.
  • Once you have successfully completed the module you will gain 30 credits that you can put towards further study.
