Computer Domain Migration

To continue the university’s move to a single IT network we will soon be migrating all staff desktop computers throughout the university to a new Microsoft Active Directory domain.

The process to migrate your computer will take approximately 1 hour to complete and during this time you won’t be able to use your desktop computer.

We’ll be in touch with you over the coming weeks when we’re due to start work on your department or faculty's computers.

During the migration, please leave your computer turned on and do not attempt to use it until the following morning. During this time, you’ll be unable to access your desktop computers.

If your computer migration completes sooner than the following morning, we’ll be in touch to confirm you can use your computer.

If you use a laptop and desktop computer, you will need to contact the IT Service Desk to migrate your laptop and desktop computer at the same time. This will ensure you can continue to login to your laptop.

For example:

  • Username: username@uwtsd.ac.uk (username is your PC login)
