Our staff are very familiar with the education systems of different EU countries and we accept country-specific qualifications from EU member states for both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. Postgraduate Taught Programmes
For entry onto a postgraduate taught course applicants are normally required to hold a good Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject. The precise entry requirements vary according to each programme. Proficiency in the English Language is essential to study at undergraduate and postgraduate taught programme levels at UWTSD.
- Applicants must demonstrate language at level B2 or above on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
- Applicants can provide evidence that they have been taught through the medium of English for the past two years
Undergraduate Fees for EU students in 2017/18

The Welsh Government announced that students from the EU will not have to pay tuition fees higher than the current level. This means that EU student applicants will receive a grant of up to £4,954 from the Welsh Government.
EU student applicants can also apply for a Tuition Fee Loan to cover the remaining £4,046. Both the Tuition Fee Grant and Loan will be paid directly to the University on behalf of the student. Students will start repaying the loan only once they graduate or left the course.
EU nationals who are currently in receipt of student loans from Student Finance Wales and those EU nationals who intend to begin studying in the academic year 2018/19 will be eligible for support from loans and grants.
