Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who would like to work with students in their Initial Teacher Education period (undergraduates and postgraduates).  The PTE tutor will make school-based visits to assess, support and challenge students while they undertake their block placement(s) in one of our many partnership schools in the South West Wales region. The PTE tutor will also attend relevant team meetings, exam boards and/or training sessions as appropriate.

The PTE tutor will be employed as needed to support the school-based provision for the post-graduate and under-graduate programmes of Initial Teacher Education.

It is essential for the post-holder to be able to make their own transport arrangements, have recent knowledge of and are up to date with best practice in Primary or Secondary schooling in Wales, and be able to offer professional support and challenge to those preparing to enter the profession.

In addition, where individuals have appropriate experience, there may be opportunities for making a contribution to assessment of ITE students’ academic work.
