Part Time (33.5 hours per week), Fixed Term (for 12 months in the first instance)
The post holder will be required to assist the Head Chef in ensuring that the highest possible standard of food preparation and presentation is achieved at all times. The role holder will have the ability to produce all food requirements on an assigned shift independently, across any of the campuses. Ordering day to day stock and minimising wastage will be part of the role.
The post holder will interact with customers and support the catering team in the front facing delivery of service as required. The post holder will be required to actively contribute to the menu planning process and be aware of industry trends and leads. Flexibility to support any area of the department in order to deliver an efficient, customer focused service will be an important part of the role.
The role holder will be expected to work on other campuses to ensure business needs of all campuses are fulfilled, including regular preparation of food for Sunday carvery on a rotating basis across all Campuses. There will a minimum expectation of a Sunday shift once a month. Ability to independently prepare and produce food for medium size events is critical.
In addition to an interview, there will be a practical half-day cookery skills assessment. The interview and assessment will be held on the same day.
