About the Role
Normal working days and hours will be Monday to Friday on a rota basis, however you will be expected to work weekends on occasion. You will normally prepare the breakfast and lunch service and assist our Head Chef by ensuring the highest possible standards of food preparation and presentation are always achieved. You will be able to independently produce all food requirements during your assigned shift, order day to day stock, and minimise wastage. You will actively contribute towards planning menus, and will be aware of industry trends and leads.
You will interact with customers and support our committed catering team with front facing service delivery, as required. Flexibility to support any area of the department in order to deliver an efficient, customer-focused service will be an important part of your role.
It is critical that you are able to independently prepare and produce food for medium size events, and you will be expected to work across campuses to fulfil business needs.
You’ll have the passion, enthusiasm and vision to develop the role, and strive to ensure the highest levels of food preparation and presentation. With a willingness to take a hands on approach, you’ll also be well-organised and able to work on your own initiative. Fundamentally, we’re looking for an individual who is interested in delivering a great experience for our students, staff and visitors.
• Part Time (33.5 hours per week), Permanent
• £9.73 - £10.88 per hour / £17,000 - £19,003.55 per annum*
