UWTSD has a long-established reputation for supporting industry through its academic expertise, resources and skills development. Non-destructive testing and evaluation has been a key area of expertise and research at UWTSD for over 25 years. During this period, UWTSD has established working collaborations with locally based strategically key International NDT companies to carry out research and development in a number of areas.

 About the Role

The successful candidate will support the Faculties’ postgraduate, research and industrial liaison activities in the area of Applied NDT. They will be working with a team of dedicated and experienced academic and industrial researchers within the active Applied NDT research group.

The role will include NDT laboratory support for both undergraduate and postgraduate activities as well as undertaking applied research in the area of Electromagnetic NDT methods. The successful candidate will be expected to work with a number of academic and industrial colleagues in order to meet these aims.

This post is funded for 12 months, and will exploit Non-Destructive Test methods and associated computational simulation work.

A degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline, knowledge of NDT Methods, and the ability to demonstrate effective organisational skills are essential for the role.

 The Package

  • Full Time (37 hours, 1.0FTE), Fixed Term for 12 months
  • Salary: £21,585 per annum
