INSPIRE hosts second ESDGC Conference at UWTSD Carmarthen

INSPIRE (Institute of Sustainable Practice, Innovation & Resource Effectiveness) is hosting its second ‘Education for Sustainability and Global Citizenship’ (ESDGC) conference during the Wales Nexus Annual Learning and Teaching Conference on 23-24th March 2016 at the Halliwell Centre, University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Carmarthen. 

This event will include a meeting of the UWTSD led ESDGC interdisciplinary research group.

Staff interested in taking part in this event are encouraged to submit a 500 word abstract to Dr Carolyn Hayles carolyn.hayles@uwtsd.ac.uk by 26th February 2016.

The half day symposia will take place on Wednesday afternoon 23rd March and is open to anyone engaged in ESDGC in Wales  and will be an opportunity to come together and share best practice and case studies in the delivery of ESDGC teaching and learning from across Welsh universities. There will be a keynote speaker and plenty of networking opportunities for staff to share experiences and ideas.

All authors will have an opportunity to present their work at the conference.  

Following on from the conference, staff will be given until September 2016 to produce a full conference paper for formal review.  Papers that are accepted will be published in the peer reviewed ‘Wales Journal of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education’. An award for Best Paper will be made to the academic who the journal editors’ believe to have produced the best piece of work.  They will be provided with financial support to attend a conference and present their work.
