University of Wales Trinity Saint David's staff in Swansea’s SA1 have raised funds for LATCH, the Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity.

The money was raised by colleagues who took part in the city’s inaugural Swansea Triathlon, last June, which was sponsored by UWTSD.

UWTSD SA1 Project Facilitator Geraint Flowers said: “Being able to raise money for an incredibly valuable charity such as LATCH made the completion of my first triathlon all the more worthwhile. The universal support from family, friends and work colleagues was unbelievable and made both the training and the event itself so inspiriting for me. I hope to be able to raise more money for LATCH in the future.”

Paul Wilkins of LATCH said: “LATCH Welsh Children’s Charity relies entirely on donations from the public. Through such support we are able to make life easier for so many children suffering from cancer and leukaemia on Rainbow Ward at the Children’s Hospital. We are grateful to all at the University of Wales Trinity St David who so kindly gave and sponsored the generous donation of £330. Thank you very much. Diolch yn fawr.”
