UWTSD has hosted a talk by Steve Moore, Hywel Dda University Health Board Chief Executive and UWTSD Professor of Practice

The Faculty of Business and Management at UWTSD Swansea hosted a talk by Steve Moore, Hywel Dda University Health Board Chief Executive and UWTSD Professor of Practice.

The talk on ‘Future Challenges in Healthcare – Funding and Demographics,’ took place at UWTSD’s Swansea Business Campus and was followed by a question and answer session.

Steve has recently been appointed as a Professor of Practice at UWTSD.

The title of ‘Honorary Professor of Practice’ is bestowed upon an individual to honour and recognise that person for having attained academic and/or professional distinction in those disciplines which are aligned with the strategic intentions of the University.

Steve has extensive experience in both the health and social care sectors and was previously Consulting Director for Health and Social Care Policy for a global multi-disciplinary consultancy firm ICF International. Prior to this, he was Chief Executive for NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Primary Care Trust (PCT) and, following NHS reorganisation, was appointed Chief Executive of the both Cornwall and Devon PCT clusters which include NHS Plymouth, NHS Devon and Torbay Care Trust. More recently he was Director of the NHS England Area Team covering Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management at UWTSD, Steve Griffiths said: “It was a great honour to introduce Steve Moore as a guest speaker at the Swansea Business School. He has recently been appointed as a Professor of Practice at UWTSD and we look forward to further developing the partnership between the university and Hywel Dda Health Authority.”

Steve Moore said: “It was a privilege to be invited and be able to talk not just about the NHS but the broader issues facing our health care services.”
