28.06.2016

UWTSD’s Swansea College of Art is sending a record number of graduates to this year's 'New Designers’ Exhibition in London which runs from June 29 to July 2 and July 6 to 9. New Designers is fast becoming the UK’s most important exhibition for emerging design. The event showcases the fresh-thinking and innovation of 3,000 brilliant individuals, providing an essential pipeline of new talent into the UK’s creative industries.

Dr Ian Walsh, UWTSD’s Dean of Art and Design said: We are delighted that the excellence of our graduates will once again be seen at Europe’s largest international graduate design exhibition. Graduates from Surface Pattern Design, Glass, Product Design, Automotive Design, Illustration, Graphic Design and Advertising & Brand Design will make up one of the largest graduate contingents at the exhibition. Over the years, graduates of Swansea College of Art have won numerous awards at this prestigious showcase and this year promises to be no exception. The event at London’s Business Design Centre attracts thousands of visitors and employers from across the UK and Europe. They are attracted by the sheer quality and breadth of talent on display – much of it from UWTSD’s Swansea College of Art.”

Assistant Dean of Art and Design, Mark Cocks added: “Following on from the exciting Swansea festival of graduate exhibitions, our courses are now presenting a selection of their best graduate work to the London based creative industries as part of the Free Range, D&AD and New Designers graduate events. These exhibitions provide our students with exciting opportunities to showcase the creative work produced whilst studying with us at Swansea College of Art and as such to kick off their art and design careers.”
