Trinity Fields School Achieves Investors in Families Award for the Third Time

13.11.2015

Trinity Fields School and Resource Centre in Caerphilly is celebrating after becoming the first Special School in Wales to achieve the Investors in Families quality mark for the third time.

The quality mark is awarded to schools that are committed to working with the whole family to improve outcomes for children. Schools that seek re-accreditation have to demonstrate how they have evaluated their previous activity in this field and developed their work accordingly.

Schools were supported in this process by the Wales Centre for Equity in Education; a joint initiative between the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and the University of Wales which coordinates the quality mark in Wales.

Trinity Fields was one of the very first schools in Wales to achieve the award in 2007/8 and gained re-accreditation in 2011. This latest award demonstrates the ongoing commitment of all the staff to including families and the community in every aspect of the life of the school.

Ian Elliott MBE, Head Teacher said: “Speaking on behalf of the governing body we are delighted that we have achieved the re-accreditation of the Investors in Families Award for the 3rd time. We are firmly committed to working in partnership with our families in order that all our children achieve the very best outcomes. Also we would like to thank all of our families who provide invaluable support to us.”

Chris Waterman, Executive Director of IIF said: “We are delighted to recognise the continuing commitment of Trinity Fields to the quality mark. The school is proof that Investors in Families is a very good way to audit, and then develop, work with families to improve outcomes for children and their families. One of the keys to success is working with other schools and sharing ideas about how to engage families.”
