24.11.2014

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David's Vice Chancellor’s annual Christmas Concert will take place on Tuesday, December 9th in the Chapel on the University’s Carmarthen campus.

Featuring performances by Côr Aelwyd y Drindod; students from the University’s Wales International Academy of Voice (WIAV) and the British Sinfonietta, the concert will contain a range of Christmas classics that are sure to enchant audiences.

Conducted by Eilir Owen Griffiths, Lecturer in Performing Arts at UWTSD, the concert is now a firm festive favourite in Carmarthen and gives the University’s talented students the opportunity to showcase their musical abilities in the charming surroundings of the chapel.

“The annual Vice-Chancellor’s Christmas concert is a great opportunity for the students to perform with one of the UK’s leading professional orchestras and to highlight the wealth of talent we have within the University,” says Eilir.

“I always look forward to this occasion and I’m sure the audience will be delighted with the programme we’ve prepared for this year’s concert.”

The University’s Christmas concert will take place at 7.30pm on Tuesday 9 December, at the University Chapel, Carmarthen Campus. Tickets cost £10 and can be purchased by calling 0300 323 0015 (9.00am-5.00pm Mon-Fri) or by visiting www.ticketsource.co.uk/tsd.
