Research as Art Poster Competition

The Research as Art Poster Competition is for all postgraduate students and it encourages postgraduates to take a creative perspective on their research by visualising their research as a poster.  The purpose of this competition is to inspire creative thinking about research.

Research as Art Poster Competition

This year UWTSD had 14 entries to the Research as Art Poster competition.  The entries were then exhibited at the opening of the Postgraduate Research Festival on the Lampeter Campus in July.  The winner of this year’s competition was Mara Steenhuisen-Siemonsma who is a distance learning postgraduate student.  Her entry as seen below explores orb research as a cultural phenomenon in popular art.

Dr Paul Jeff from Swansea College of Art, UWTSD judged the entries and he felt Mara’s entry won because she struck a good balance between visual representation and delivering information.

The next competition will be announced after Christmas.
