Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Research Conference

The UWTSD Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Research Conference is an opportunity for all postgraduates to present their research as a 15 minute paper to their peers.  The nature of this conference is interdisciplinary as the panels are constructed under various research themes.

The 2016 conference was very successful as it also included distance students giving papers via skype.

CALL FOR PAPERS: UWTSD Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Research Conference –One Day Event

The UWTSD Postgraduate Interdisciplinary Research Conference is happening again this year.  Last year it was very successful and we are expecting it to be an even bigger success this year. 

The event targets

  • Doctoral and MPhil students
  • Taught Masters and MRes students who are interested in undertaking doctoral / MPhil studies are welcome to participate.

We only welcome Masters students who are interested in undertaking doctoral studies.

  • Memory
  • Advances in Technology
  • Environment
  • Identity
  • Justice and Community
  • Health and Wellbeing

The event will consist of a series of panels and a special research presentation.

This is an opportunity for doctoral students to give a 15min paper on their research area.  Distance students can present via Skype for Business.  This event will provide staff and students undertaking postgraduate research with an opportunity for networking and for doctoral candidates to expand their horizon of interest. 

If you are interested in giving a paper on your research topic then the following topics should be relevant to you: 

Students who would like to attend but not present a paper are very welcome.

The deadline for sending your abstracts is May 1.  All abstracts need to have a max of 250 words and should be sent to Dr Catriona Ryan at Catriona.ryan@uwtsd.ac.uk

Note:  Free transport will be available for UWTSD students from all UWTSD campuses.

Post-conference publishing opportunity

All papers delivered by UWTSD students are eligible to be published in UWTSD’s new Postgraduate Journal entitled ‘EOG.’  The deadline for submission of those papers is July 20th. More details about submission to the journal will be sent out in due course.
