Archaeology in Wales is Wales’ foremost national archaeological journal. It is published annually by the Council for British Archaeology (CBA) Cymru/Wales group and is edited by Dr Jemma Bezant of the School of Archaeology, History and Anthropology.
The journal features synthetic, themed and research articles, plus a comprehensive gazetteer of recent archaeological work in Wales as well as book reviews, surveys of recent literature, a report on environmental archaeology by the Cadw-funded archaeologist for Wales and a portable antiquities report. The journal is free to CBA Cymru/Wales members.
The CBA is a National, independent educational charity whose aim it is to open up the UK's rich heritage for all and to safeguard it for future generations. The CBAs strategic plan for 2010-15 includes:
- Increasing participation
- Enhancing discovery
- Strenghtening advocacy
