The School of Business, Finance and Management delivers a well-established and progressive portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate, research and professional courses in Management related subjects in the heart of Swansea city. The School takes an applied, employment-focused approach which includes practical work experience, opportunities for international work placements, innovative student-led approaches to learning and cutting edge ‘Master classes’ delivered by leading professionals and academics.

Employability is our key focus. Our courses will prepare you for careers within Business and Management. Every undergraduate student will work with an employer to gain practical real world work experience. We see this is as critical for you to understand the relationship of theory into practice.

We offer a supportive, high quality and challenging teaching and learning environment delivered by well qualified practitioners. All our lecturers have worked in Business and Management. We understand the real world. All courses are designed to instil in graduates the attributes desired by employers, e.g. innovation, creativity, an enterprising mindset and responsiveness to unexpected events or tasks.

This year Swansea Business School celebrated its best ever NSS Results, with our Management courses scoring 94% Overall Student Satisfaction. This score ranks our management programmes as the best in Wales, and in the top 15 in the UK for Student Satisfactio. Undergraduate courses

For undergraduates we offer degrees and HND’s in:

Whichever course you decide to choose, be safe in the knowledge that all our courses are regularly reviewed in consultation with employers to ensure currency of curriculum and to maximise graduate employability. Many of the courses are mapped to professional body qualifications such as the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). We also provide opportunities to study Business and Management in the medium of Welsh.

Can’t decide which course is for you? No problem. For undergraduate Business and Management courses we offer the flexibility to change your programme of study at the end of the first year to any of the courses listed above.

Integrated Masters courses

The new Integrated Masters programmes offer an additional year of study and a Level 7 qualifcation on the same financial terms as a normal undergraduate degree.

All our lecturers are practitioners and research informed. This means that teaching and learning is focused on real life case studies and that the design of all programme curricula is through an employability lens.

We are a city centre Business campus and just a ten minute walk from the beautiful sweeping sands of Swansea Bay. Or you can choose to study at our historic Carmarthen campus. Our locality ensures we are well connected to both local and national businesses. This means that we have excellent contacts and networks with the surrounding business community. Consequently students benefit from working with employers on real life business issues. It also allows for frequent employer visits, guest speakers, work placements and site visits to local businesses.

You will have the opportunity to participate in cultural, business and management events provided by employers, professional bodies, the School and other organizations.

The School provides a supportive environment in which to study whilst ensuring it is at the cutting edge of Business and Management. Our ‘open door policy’ and team of knowledgeable support staff means there is always someone available to discuss any issues with you. In your first year you will be offered the chance to have a ‘buddy’ who will be a student trained to provide support for you throughout your studies. You will also have a personal tutor to provide additional support.
