I am a tutor on the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology, leading the ‘Sky and Psyche’ module which focuses on psychological astrologies, and psychologists who have particularly influenced subsequent astrologies or been concerned with themes relevant to astrology, such as Carl Jung and James Hillman.

I have a BSc in Mathematics, BA in Theology and Religion and MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology. Building on a decade of intense involvement in the UK astrological community, which includes a 3-year term as President of the Faculty of Astrological Studies, I am currently pursuing a PhD researching in the psychologisation of natal astrology in the 20th century, whilst teaching on the MA programme in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology.

Member of the International Society for the Study of Religion, Nature and Culture

Member of the Astrological Association of Great Britain

Fellow of the Faculty of Astrological Studies

My main teaching areas are the history of modern astrology, particularly the relationship between the development of astrology and Depth Psychology, and the influence of Carl Jung’s thought on modern astrology.

My research interests centre on the history, philosophy and practice of modern astrology, particularly the work of Dane Rudhyar, and the cosmology of psychologists such as Carl Jung and James Hillman, and their influence on theories of astrology. I am also interested in the history of Greek polytheism and its relationship to Western astrology, and Greek sacred architecture.

In addition to my academic degrees, I hold the Diploma of the Faculty of Astrological Studies and the Katarche Diploma in Horary Astrology. I was involved in the management of the Faculty of Astrological Studies between 2007 and 2015, serving as Vice-President (2009-2012) and President (2012-2015) and also tutoring students in the theory, history and philosophy of astrological practice.

For several years I was involved in the organisation and management of the Faculty of Astrological Studies’ Oxford Summer School, which brings together teachers and students from around the world to discuss the theory, practice, history and philosophy of astrology.
