Responsible for all academic issues relating to the MA in Advanced Vocal Studies, including programming, assessment, arranging assessors and examiners, preparing all documentation for the External Examiner, Registry and the international Office. It is also an integral part of my role to liaise closely with Mr O’Neill, WIAV’s Director and the Dean of Faculty.
I started my professional career as a music teacher at Ysgol Gyfun Llanhari, and was promoted to the position of Head of Music department at the school in 1984. From 1988 – 2006, I worked as a freelance musician In television and radio as a presenter, composer, producer and director. During this period, I also composed numerous commissioned works for choirs, the National eisteddfod, and for Urdd Gobaith Cymru. In 2006, I was appointed a senior lecturer in music at Trinity College Carmarthen. In 2011, I was appointed as WIAV’s Programme / Academic Director.
In 1993, I was appointed as an examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). Since then, I have been promoted to be a Moderator to the main examining panel and Trainer and Mentor for new examiners.

I act as mentor for all of our MA students, and organise frequent one-to-one seminars, providing support and guidance on academic and personal issues relating to the MA programme.
I am not currently involved in research.
Composing for media; examining and assessment.
I was successful in a bid for project money form Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol to establish a Welsh Musicals Archive. This is currently in progress, and the Archive is due to be launched in 2014.
No specific publications, but numerous musical compositions.
Adjudicator at the National Eisteddfod and the Urdd National Eisteddfod. and at Music for Youth Festival. I am a member of the advisory Board of Live Music Now, Wales. (LMN)
