Heather Fish

Heather Fish has been active in the field of work-based learning for over fifteen years.

Within the workplace, she has held a number of HR Manager positions which have encompassed responsibility for Learning and Development (L&D) activities, and also acted as a specialist internal Learning and Development Consultant before following a freelance route in 2008. Since May 2011, she has been a Work Based Learning Fellow at Trinity Saint David, initially working as part of the ‘Mentoring Our Workforce’ and 'Elevate' team, as well as carrying out her work as an HR/L&D consultant.  She is now  lecturer on the GWLAD programme.

Heather has a passion for lifelong learning, and has taught adults in a range of settings including community, further and higher education as well as within the workplace. Her subjects include Theatre Studies and English together with leadership and management disciplines and the so-called ‘soft’ skills such as emotional intelligence and communications. In addition, she has developed a range of courses within the HR field, from stress management to performance management and equality and diversity. For the past eighteen months Heather has been researching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and its application within a workplace setting.

Heather has a degree (first class) in Humanities from Trinity Saint David, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Development and Organisational Change from Bristol University. Other qualifications include a Cert Ed (FE), a Certificate in Small Business Management plus psychometric certification. In addition, she is an NLP Practitioner and Coach Practitioner.

On another note, Heather is a performance poet and workshop leader, and can sometimes be seen at festivals throughout Wales in the summer months, in a variety of guises.
