Maggie Inman

I am responsible for the strategic direction and operational management of Carmarthen and Swansea Business Schools. Of primary importance is to ensure the School offers a high quality student experience and a learning environment which fosters academic and skills development and success for each student. I aim to engender ownership amongst staff and students upon the programmes of study and to create a Business School which is distinctive from others in the locality. Employability is a fundamental outcome for students that study at the Business School and by collaboration with business we aim to ensure all students are able to put theory in to practice.

Having completed a Doctorate in Leadership at Birmingham University in 2007, I continue to be an active researcher in the field of leadership. I have published in peer review education journals and have presented papers at national and international conferences.  I am author of a text on Human Resource Management designed for undergraduate study.

I am a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and I am an active member of the South West Wales branch committee. I am also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have extensive experience in the use of Psychometric tools and I am an accredited practitioner for Myers Briggs, SHL’s aptitude and personality assessments and AQR MTQ 48 Mental Toughness assessment.

I continue to maintain links with industry by engaging in consultancy work related to HR and Leadership. In particular I have designed and implemented management and assessment development centres within organisations and have run training courses on Recruitment and Selection.

I am an active adult learner participating in numerous CPD events as well as achieving my Doctorate while working full-time and an MSc in Personnel Management. I enjoy walking my dog on the beautiful beaches of the Gower Peninsular which border Swansea as well as skiing and swimming.
