Abstract

The School of Early Years has developed flexible provision designed to target and support those working in the early years’ education and care sector return to study. The course team has developed innovative ‘fast track’ programmes allowing for flexible delivery and condensed study. The School has monitored this provision in recent years with a view to identify key opportunities and challenges in delivering ‘non-traditional’ provision and to support the School’s widening access strategy. The presentation will explore the key findings of the initial pilot fast track provision as well as identify the key areas where delivery and student experience on such flexible programmes can be improved and developed. The paper will also highlight future plans to develop flexible provision and the significance of cross-department working in ensuring quality provision.
