Chris Waterman, Executive Director of Investors in Families, explained:
“While there is a very close fit between the philosophy of IIF and WCEE, we are keen to expand into other areas. In addition to taking IIF across Wales in the last two years, we have also adapted the quality mark for the secure estate, which will involve IIF working with prisons across the United Kingdom and Europe. There is also a growing demand for IIF in England.
We will continue to work with WCEE on specific projects of mutual interest.”
Professor David Egan, Director of the WCEE said:
“This is a decision that we have taken with IIF and which we believe is the right way forward for both organisations. We are both fully convinced of the importance of family and community engagement for the future development of education in Wales and I am sure that both organisations will work alongside each other to take this agenda forward.”
Investors in Families will be in contact with its member schools with details of the summer programme and details of the transition arrangements. Schools can contact IIF by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone at 0773 606 9191 or 01494 866099.
The Wales Centre for Equity in Education will continue to work with schools to develop strategies and interventions based on research and policy and to promote the importance of families and communities working with learning providers to overcome the effects of disadvantage on educational achievement. The WCEE can be contacted by emailing email@example.com or by telephone at 02920 376979.
