Domestic Installation
The AGC has worked with architects and private clients to design and realise a number of glass panels and installations for domestic installations
Schools
The AGC is committed to developing links with schools in the community. In-school workshops allow pupils to experience the creative process and gain a valuable insight into the complexities of designing for glass. We also invite schools to visit, to see firsthand the realisation of their ideas into glass.
Students and ex-students of the university have worked with a number of schools in the local area and further afield to realise commissions.
Places of Worship
The AGC undertakes new commissions for churches and chapels. We can assist with the process of advising on appropriate styles and techniques, selecting a shortlist of artists, overseeing the fabrication of glassworks and supervising installation.
Over recent years the AGC has completed a number of commissions for places of worship; the newest examples can be found in our Case Studies.
Public Art
The AGC undertakes new commissions for secular buildings and spaces. We specialise in the processes of advising on appropriate styles and techniques, selecting a shortlist of artists, overseeing the fabrication of glassworks and supervising installation.
In the last few years commissions have been completed in a number of locations. These include West Glamorgan Archive Service and Children’s Hospital Cardiff.

Conservation/Restoration/Repair
The AGC has undertaken a number of conservation and restoration projects, including: heraldic stained glass at Margam and leaded work at Merthyr Town Hall.

Channel 4 Time Team
Staff from the Swansea School of Architectural Glass took part in a ‘Time Team’ project, recreating a sample of medieval stained glass.
Celtic Studios
A book by Professor Maurice Broady ‘A Vision Fulfilled: The story of Celtic Studios and Swansea’s architectural glass tradition’ was jointly edited by Elizabeth Broady and Alun Adams and published by West Glamorgan Archive Service.

Book on Glass Painting by Jonathan Cooke
The AGC advised Jonathan Cooke in publishing ‘Time and Temperature: A glass painter’s guide to multiple layering’.
Technology Report, Margam Castle
Alun Adams collaborated with David Dungworth of English Heritage on the publication of a technology report, ‘Scientific Examination of the window glass, Margam Castle, Port Talbot.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Courses
The Architectural Glass Centre (AGC) in collaboration with the internationally renowned centre for glass education, Swansea College of Art at UWTSD, organises and hosts a range of glass courses for professionals and interested amateurs. The AGC can also provide internships, work experience and bespoke courses tailored to your requirements.
Workshops
The AGC runs a range of workshops each year, many of which are suited to both the novice and those wishing to update or extend their skills. Past workshops have covered skills such as fusing, sandblasting, glass painting, adhesives and bonding, gilding and architectural mosaics.
