How do you get your first job in the creative industries? You will know that it is one of the most competitive industries in the world. As such, we have developed an aggressive approach to help improve your chances. From the first term, you will be taking ‘Employability Workshops’. In these sessions a tutor will help you apply for real ‘live’ jobs.

Apart from improving your CV, and your skill base (both important things to help you get that first job in the industry), these sessions also help you identify your weaknesses and from there we will give you extra classes to get the improvements you need to feel confident that you can apply for other jobs.

Outside of this, you will be given opportunities of work placements when they are offered to us. Also, you will be encouraged to submit your own films to industry events and festivals – in the past our students have won awards in the RTS Wales and many others.

As another way to improve your CV, you will also have the opportunity to run the course’s own film festival. The Copper Coast Film Festival is the faculty’s flagship media event, inviting interest
