Pooya is an innovation fellow for biomechanics and ergonomics at ATiC.
Pooya has a background in sports sciences and his research is focused on using technology in education and rehabilitation. For his PhD, he characterized sports active video games (exergames) to understand their efficacy in teaching, practising, and encouraging real sports. He later used virtual reality scenarios to detect expertise of basketball players.
Prior to ATiC, he was a research technician/demonstrator at Porto Biomechanics Laboratory (LABIOMEP), Portugal and a post-doctoral researcher at Aix-Marseille University, France. He is also a freelance graphic designer and science media producer.
