Dr. Yajie Zhang

Innovation Fellow

Yajie Zhang is a human movement scientist and an enthusiastic explorer. She brings her experience in the fields of life science to the ATiC team, specifically, control of posture and movement, and biomechanical evaluation in sport and daily life.

Yajie has rich research experiences at five labs in four countries (China, Ireland, Netherlands and Belgium). This has provided her an international perspective in the field of sports biomechanics, ergonomics, health and rehabilitation sciences. She worked with sport teams, e.g. supporting the training of athletes for Winter Olympics. Her PhD research focused on the effects of ageing on postural adjustments in various situations.

At ATiC, Yajie continues exploring how people move, exercise and perform tasks, and how they interact with the environment. In addition, she is interested in product design and testing. Her expertise and passion can benefit the transformation for health services, as well as the customisation and utilisation of products.
