With this in mind and the increasing career opportunities for marketers across industries and sectors the BA (Hons) Digital Marketing is underpinned by the core elements of Business, Management and Marketing.
The programme involves learning key aspects of developing the digital experience, digital consumer behaviour, analytics and data management, strategy, multi-channel marketing and online and offline communication tools. Due to its structure, this programme is practical in nature developing the skills and knowledge needed for a career in marketing. In addition, the programme is mapped against the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing providing students with the opportunity to gain a CIM qualification alongside their degree.

What you will learn
The BA (Hons) Digital Marketing is an innovative programme where teaching is based around live business projects, case studies, internships and work experience. The programme has been designed in consultation with industry experts, providing students with access to the latest leading academic knowledge and practical industry skills. The programme shares a common first year, during which you will undertake a range of compulsory modules covering a number of business disciplines, providing a broad understanding of business and management. This allows you, as the student, to gain a good understanding of the principles across a range of subject areas before specialising in digital marketing.
The programme has been developed in conjunction with employers and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), who are the leading industry body, to ensure the relevant employability and professional skills are developed alongside the academic rigour of a degree programme.
The Business School has long established relationships with local and regional businesses to deliver a programme of integrated extracurricular activities. This provides our students with a range of contacts, opportunities and experiences that form part of the learning experience, but also allows students to develop their knowledge, skills and practical capabilities necessary for the transition into employment.

Assessment methods vary from module to module but you can expect a range of assessments including, coursework, practical work and exams. Assessments combine academic rigour with authentic “real-world” tasks that demonstrate a students ability to meaningfully apply their knowledge and skills.

Other equivalent qualifications are accepted and the admissions panel will consider each application on an individual basis. Please note also that our offers are not based solely on your academic achievements; we take into account your full range of skills, experience and attainments when considering your application.
The degree welcomes applicants who have previously studied business for a natural progression. Those who have studied other subject areas will transfer well. Those with work experience, but few formal qualifications, may also join the programme. A-Level and Edexcel awards, as well as a range of other certificates at this level from UK, EU and International bodies are respected.
Grades are important; however, our offers are not solely based on academic results. We are interested in creative people that demonstrate a strong commitment to their chosen subject area and therefore we welcome applications from individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. To assess student suitability for their chosen course we normally arrange interviews for all applicants at which your skills, achievements and life experience will be considered as well as your qualifications.
Our business degrees provide students with a broad range of skills that are sought after by a range of employers. Due to the flexible and broad nature of the programme graduates will be equipped to enter a range of industries and sectors including not of profit, public and private sectors. In 2015/16 98% of graduates from the Business School were in employment, further study after six months.
The Business School offers students dedicate placement support with industry-specific advice being offered by discipline experts. Students will have the opportunity to undertake placements/internships as part of their degree programme and/or in addition to the taught modules. Opportunities to join the Chartered Institute of Marketing continuous professional development (CPD) programme is also possible.
This programme is mapped against the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Digital Diploma in Professional Marketing providing students with the opportunity to gain a CIM qualification alongside their degree. Extra costs to be borne by the student
As an institution, we seek to continually enhance the student experience and as a result, additional costs may be incurred by the student on activities that will add value to their education. Where possible these costs will be kept to a minimum with additional activities being optional.
Field trips and placement costs
Field trips will be available for students, which are optional. Costs for UK and International trips will be provided at the beginning of the academic year.
Students undertaking placements abroad will incur travel, living and possibly accommodation costs. The amount will depend upon location and current state of the UK pound. For students undertaking placements in the USA, additional visa costs will apply.
Students will be expected to pay four weeks prior to field trips taking place. Travel and visa costs for overseas placements, three months before departure.
