Our current student, Michael Thomas, from BA(Hons) Leadership and Management started his own company upon his completion of his Level 5 study in 2021.
Michael started his journey with us in 2019. He successfully completed his study in CertHE Skills for the Workplace Level 4 and BA(Hons) Leadership and Management Level 5 in 2021, where he decided to start his own business.
I was extremely successful and proud of my accomplishments. The following year I decided to take years out of my studies to work on my business.
Michael’s company mainly focus on four areas: Coaching, Mentoring, Teaching and Training. He appreciated that all the lecturers and services at UWTSD Birmingham have been extremely supportive.
I took full advantage of all the services that the university has provided over the years. I was truly inspired by a module on level 4 entrepreneurship in the 21st century.
I used the skills from the module to help slowly build connections and, of course, start my journey as an entrepreneur. Ever since I have had ongoing support from the university, I was invited to speak at the careers event held in July, where I inspired students from levels 4, 5, 6 and 7 to try their hands at entrepreneurship.
Michael would also like to share this inspiring message with his fellows:
Genius is 1% inspiration, 99% perspiration – Thomas Edison
