Support and Finance
University life is exciting, but it can be stressful at times, so it's important you take care of yourself. If you need support, we will do our best to enable you to work to your full potential and to show the true level of your ability as an undergraduate or post-graduate Student. Every student is allocated a personal tutor, and this individual will be a member of academic staff who will be able to give you advice and support with academic issues.
Every Faculty has its own Specialist Academic Coordinator within the Student Services Department who helps to arrange additional support, and to help students with disabilities and learning difficulties. We work very closely with the University’s Student Services. The Student Services team offer advice on all issues, from academic skills to finance. The University offers a wide range of scholarships and bursaries to help students financially with issues that vary from child care to travel related to your studies.

BA Perfformio students are also eligible to apply for the University’s Welsh Medium/Bilingual Scholarship that offers students awards of up to £600. £50 is awarded for every 10 credits completed successfully through the medium of Welsh, and this scholarship can be applied for during the autumn term after starting to study at the University.
CBC also offers its own scholarships which will be given to those students who have shown the biggest development during their first period of study with us. The course tutors will decide which two students will receive £750 each during the July of their first year of study.

All of the Canolfan Berfformio Cymru students undertake the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol’s Welsh Language Skills Certificate. The Certifiate provides a golden opportunity for students to gain a qualification that shows their Welsh language skills, and their ability to show employers evidence of their ability to communicate confidently and professionally in Welsh, both orally and in writing.
The University provides students with the opportunity to receive sessions and support from a language tutor who prepares students for the Certificate. There is more information for prospective students on the Certificate’s website: sgiliauiaith.colegcymraeg.ac.uk.
