Developing Sustainable Enterprises (Rural) (CertHE)

Apply VIA UCAS - Full Time

This programme is subject to re-validation.

Students on the programme will consider the challenges faced by those setting up and running a business in a rural area.

In a changing world, we recognise that business has to adapt and become part of the solution, rather than the problem by taking responsibility for people and place. Our programmes have sustainable and ethical thinking at their core, and our learners challenge existing business models and debate business solutions for a more sustainable future.

Our students are part of a community of students and staff where small group problem-based learning enables them to gain the skills required to creatively solve the business problems of the future.

We hope that our graduates will be a part of shaping the rural economy.

Student Quotes

Fiona Bowskill

“The teaching style in this course is more laid back and interactive with smaller groups, which increases the contact between staff and students which in turn helps to increase the confidence of students allowing them to grow and flourish. Having sustainability built into the course helps to Increase the chances of employability.  Thank you Louise for encouraging me to sign up for this course, it has allowed me to grow so much in this short amount of time.”

Honi Sieczych

“I like this course for the style of learning as I prefer one to one learning or in small groups compared with 200 people with one lecturer who doesn't know their students. The sustainable approach of learning in this course is also more attractive to me and there is a focus on students doing well and understanding the subject. The tutors are approachable and guide us at any time we need it. The course itself is a pioneer program for sustainability and lead us to change the ways  we live, work and promote sustainability which is great!!! Much appreciated, thank you very much!”
