Top up and Direct Entry Programmes
We offer our BA Early Years Education and Care in the daytime or evening as direct entry programmes. This means if you have studied early years’ qualifications with another provider you may be able to transfer these into our programme and this will allow you to complete a full BA (Hons).
At the moment we have different types of direct entry.
You can come straight into level 5 of our degree either in March / April (2-year evening provision) or in September (3-year day time degree).
You can also enter directly into level 6 (3 or 2-year degree/day or evening).
Our direct entry and top-up courses are available at our SA1 Swansea Waterfront campus, our Carmarthen campus and our Cardiff community campus depending on day or evening delivery.
Top Up
If you already have a Foundation Degree in an early childhood/early education programme, this is an excellent opportunity for you to ‘top up’ your existing qualification to a full BA Honours Degree.
The programme is especially designed for those who may be working full time to be able to top up and complete a full degree programme in less than a year.
This is the equivalent to the final year of an undergraduate degree programme and will be delivered one evening a week and occasional Saturdays.
The programme includes 6 modules with a variety of assessment methods including essays, portfolios, group presentations and group discussions.
"The hands-on support we have both received from UWTSD has been amazing. The course has helped us develop. For someone who wants to work with young children, this course is ideal and will really help those who also want to progress and look into a health-related career too." Salihah Miah, graduated 2017
