It was a pleasure to see some familiar faces back on the new campus. #HowItAllBegan back in 1993 with a Motorsport project, 1998 the first Motorsport programme; through Formula Student to the professional student-led race teams UWTSD run today: MSportEng UWTSD Orthrus Racing.
The conference was opened by Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Computing and Engineering, Professor Michael Fernando and guests were also welcomed by Roger Dowden from the University’s School of Engineering. Alumni speakers included Craig Davies from IMechE; Matt Last from Red Bull KTM Tech 3 Racing; Francesco Cavalli from Tech 3 Moto2 Racing; Sarah Chappell-Smith, Reinshaw and Harley Gasson, McLaren Automotive.
There were also talks by George Warrington, Honda R&D Europe; Chris Walkingshaw, Prodrive; Ben Buesnel, MPA Creative and Sam Myers, Ford UK; Jeremy Vick, Red Bull Racing and the Key Note Talk was delivered by Professor of Practice John Iley, Iley Design.
We are so impressed with the careers achieved from these degree programmes.
