SOOP was founded with the aim of creating spaces, through the sharing of food and food stories, through which negative perceptions of migrants and refugees could be challenged and dialogue fostered.

Through a series of supper clubs, culinary training programmes and public engagement seminars, SOOP has worked in London to empower migrant groups by facilitating the sharing of culinary heritages. Their experiences have demonstrated that food can be a mechanism for enhancing cross-cultural understanding and the project explores these possibilities in new geographic locations.
