Carmarthen Graduation Ceremony

Graduation also provides the opportunity for parents, family and friends to share in the celebrations and for their significant contribution to the success of those graduating to be recognised and acknowledged.

Graduation Dates

  • Monday, 6th July 2020
  • Tuesday, 7th July 2020

Personal invitations to graduands were posted mid-October. The provisional dates and times of specific ceremonies are available here - Graddio Caerfyrddin 2020 Carmarthen Graduation.

If you wish to attend the Awards Congregation, you are required to wear full academic dress appropriate to the Award to which you are to be admitted. You are responsible for ordering this yourself at Ede and Ravenscroft.

You should aim to ensure that you place your order at least twenty one days prior to the Ceremony as Ede and Ravenscroft will not guarantee the order if placed any later. Do not wait until the results of your examinations are known.

Refunds are available for any reason you are not able to attend, but you must notify Ede & Ravenscroft at least seven days prior to the Ceremony. Their cancellation policy is available online. Ede & Ravenscroft will acknowledge receipt of your order when processed but you may not receive this until 10 days before your Ceremony. To place an order you will also need to know your head circumference, chest and height measurements.

Alternatively, if you do not have access to a computer, you can hire or buy robes by calling the Ede and Ravenscroft call centre on 01223 861854.

Your robes will be available for you to collect from the Teifi Suite in the Halliwell Centre on Graduation Day. Please return your gowns here after the ceremony.

Guest Tickets

Due to the large number of students expected to graduate, two guest tickets will be allocated per student. Students are able to request one additional ticket when completing the Graduation Booking process on MyTSD. Once the number of graduates who wish to attend has been confirmed a decision will be made on whether the third ticket can be allocated. This decision will not be made until the week before the ceremonies so please do not telephone Registry querying the availability of additional guest tickets. Guest tickets will be available for collection from the Halliwell Centre on the day of the ceremony but you will receive an email in advance confirming the number of tickets you will receive.

If there are any returned tickets for the main venue, then those tickets will be handed out on the day on a first come first served basis during the registration process. We recognise that limiting guest tickets in this way may cause some disappointment, but you will appreciate that the seating capacity in the main venue is limited.

You are of course welcome to bring additional guests on campus to enjoy the day’s celebrations with you. Any guests who do not have tickets for the main venue will be seated in a separate venue to watch a live showing of the ceremony. In order for us to ensure we have ample space available in the media link venues, you should state when completing the Graduation Booking process on MyTSD the number of tickets you require for the media link venue in the Additional Information section.

Due to the length and formal nature of proceedings, children under the age of five are not permitted to attend the ceremony. Children are most welcome to watch a ceremony in a media link venue as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Should you or any of your guests have a disability / specific access requirements that we need to know about, please give details in the relevant section of the Graduation Booking page on MyTSD.

Formal Photography

Professional photography will be provided by Ede and Ravenscroft. To save time and money, it is advisable to pre-order online or telephone +44 (0)1223 861854.

On Graduation Day, the photography studios and sales desk will be located in the Halliwell. A photographer will also attempt to capture your photograph as you shake the Vice-Chancellor’s hand on stage. This particular photograph will be placed on a secure page on the Ede and Ravenscroft website for you to view and order online if you so wish.

Live Streaming

Tell your friends and family that they can watch the ceremonies live! The ceremonies will be streamed live here.

If you would like to book accommodation at the University, please complete the Carmarthen Accommodation Booking Form and return by 27th November 2019.

There will be Refreshments available on campus.
