Meet the Hwb Team

Marlene Tobias

Hi, I’m Marlene Tobias and I’m the Senior Admin Officer for the Student Hwb, mainly based on the Cardiff Campus. I have worked for the University for a long time, and I’m happiest when helping students with their queries.
Please get in touch with us about any aspect of your studies, and we will do our utmost to help you and make your time at University a happy and successful one.
I’m a fluent Welsh speaker so feel free to speak to me in Welsh!

Joanne Price

Hi, I’m Jo, part of the Student Hub team and I have worked at UWTSD for the past 6 years. I am based at the Hwb desk on the Carmarthen Campus where I am always happy to help, offer support or just have a chat (as I love to talk). Like many, I have just completed my own studies at UWTSD, graduating this year. Outside of work I enjoy keeping fit, socialising and travelling whilst listening to The 1975 and Noisettes.

Haf James

My name is Haf and I work on the Lampeter Campus, based in the Canterbury Building.
As well as working in the Hwb, I am also the receptionist and admin assistant to the Student Services Team on the Lampeter Campus.
Come and find me if you have any questions, queries or maybe you just need directions, or even just general advice, and don’t never ever think ‘I can’t ask that’, you can 😊
I am also the person to see if you need to make any appointments within the Student Services Team, that would be for the Disability Adviser, Counsellor, Mental Health Adviser, Careers or Student Finance Officer, I can also get you in touch with the Go Wales Team.
Call in and say hello when you are passing, or wave as you pass the window, as you will always get a smile and a wave back!

Bruce Mcsloy

Hi, I’m Bruce and I work in Swansea on the SA1 Campus. I’ve worked for UWTSD for a couple of years now, and I really enjoy watching the seals climbing up the fish ladder after the salmon and trout in Swansea Bay next to the IQ Building – a special treat!
