International Foundation Programme

Successful completion of our International Foundation Programme (IFP) offers automatic progression to a range of degree schemes at UWTSD.

Please note that the minimum age for entry onto the IFP is 18 years old.

Our one-year programme is designed to prepare you for an undergraduate degree at UWTSD. Through tailored academic modules, we will give you the skills to succeed in your chosen discipline.

Pathways:

  • Art, Design and Media (Swansea campus)
  • Business & Management (Swansea campus)

Availability of pathways is dependent on cohort size

Start: September 2022

Application deadline: 5 August 2022

You must send us your completed application including all supporting documents by this date.

Entry Requirements:

  • Applicants must have completed their secondary school education in their own country and provide a signed certificate of results from their school as proof of successful completion of their secondary education.
  • English Language IELTS proficiency of 5.0 overall with Speaking, Listening and Reading Scores of 4.5 or above and a Writing score of 5.0 or above. This must be a UKVI SELT approved score.
  • Some programmes may have specific entry requirements or require specialist qualifications. Information about specific programme requirements and how they can be evidenced (e.g. GSCE results, National Diplomas, National Awards or equivalent) is included in the progression routes overview (see link below).

Progression:

Successful completion of our International Foundation Programme (IFP) offers progression opportunities to a range of degree programmes at UWTSD. Completion of the IFP will give you both the English language and the Study Skills required to succeed in your academic discipline.  Modules studied on the IFP include;

  • English for Academic Purposes
  • Study Skills
  • British Values and Culture
  • 3 subject modules in the programme you have chosen
