IUMW is a new vibrant city-center based joint venture between the University of Wales and the University of Malaya, Malaysia.
Just within easy walking distance of the low cost urban railways and the GO-KL bus system, students at IUMW can visit all the famous sights and KL’s renowned business, cultural and entertainment centres. You can catch an iconic view of the twin towers right from the campus.
Within minutes you could be snapping fantastic photographs at the towers, shopping at the Central Market, watching a performance at the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, checking out KL’s nightspots or visiting the extensive parks and museums while experiencing a huge range of delectable cuisines, in this multi-cultural, multi-faith emerging Southeast Asian hub of activity. For shopaholics the incredible malls and artisan as well as traditional markets are the primary attraction for many tourists.
Academic study will be very familiar, delivered entirely in English. All IUMW’s courses are mapped against those of UWTSD for easy transfer and exchanges. IUMW students have visited Wales for a number of years, so you may already have made friends with Malaysian students. UWTSD sends visiting tutors for guest lecture delivery at the IUMW campus. IUMW looks forward to welcoming UWTSD students to its “Kampus Kota” or City Campus.
At IUMW you can pursue an education in the following areas:
Subjects are taught at a variety of levels, from pre-university foundation to bachelors, masters and PhD.
The weather is pretty warm all year round, so don’t bother with an overcoat. Many student activities are organized on campus and at other venues, from sport, rugby, football, netball, basketball etc. to art and cultural appreciation events. You will be given a special welcome when you participate; there is no need to be an expert.
