The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is looking to appoint two individuals to work full time at our brand new Birmingham Learning Centre, Quay Place:

Student Services Officer: Student Experience

Full Time, Fixed Term for 12 months in the first instance

As a Student Services Officer: Student Experience, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Birmingham Learning Centre students are supported and engaged throughout their studies. You will hold chief responsibility for coordinating key student support providers including, but not limited, to the counselling service, careers service, and disability support coordinator. This will include assisting in the scheduling of regular student support sessions, signposting learners to relevant services, and providing key guidance and support on days that specific staff members are unavailable.

You will also hold primary responsibility for coordinating the Centre’s Student Representatives and ensuring that learners are able to actively participate in the systems that drive their learning experience.

You will liaise and coordinate with colleagues at the Centre, including academic staff members and those on other student-facing teams, to ensure that learners’ individual and unique needs are recognised and supported at every stage from enrolment through to graduation. The role will include the design, development and coordination of key student-facing events including, but not limited to, careers and employability events, health and well-being events, and community engagement activities.

You will work alongside Student Services team colleagues in responding to applicant and staff queries, ensuring that the Student Services email inbox is monitored and that all emails are responded to quickly and accurately.

Student Services Officer: Process Administration

Full Time, Fixed Term for 12 months in the first instance

As a Student Services Officer: Process Administration, you will hold chief responsibility for the monitoring of student attendance and ensuring that all students are, at all times throughout their learner journey, meeting the minimum attendance requirement for the Centre. This will require a high level of IT competency and the ability to engage with the UWTSD student data management systems.

You will also hold primary responsibility for the accurate and efficient processing of student requests, including Leave of Absence and Administrative Appeals, and also for the issuing of notices including attendance warnings and disciplinary letters.

Another key aspect of the role will be supporting academic staff in maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records. You will work alongside Student Services team colleagues in responding to applicant and staff queries, ensuring that the Student Services email inbox is monitored and that all emails are responded to quickly and accurately.
