01098 - Assessment Officer (Birmingham)

Full Time, Permanent

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is looking to appoint a suitably experienced individual for the post of Assessment Officer at our Birmingham Learning Centre: Sparkhill.

  The Role

The role focuses on coordinating assessments for learners across Birmingham Learning Centre’s programmes delivered from our Sparkhill location. This will include, but not be limited to: setting assessment timetables with lecturing staff; coordination of the assignment submission process via the UWTSD VLE, Moodle; data management for all assignment marks, including ensuring accurate entry of marks data in the UWTSD student files; administrative oversight of the Unfair Practice process; preparation for the Examining Board process; ensuring student records are complete, correct, and in compliance with GDPR standards; and communication with central departments and colleagues at other delivery locations.

You will also hold responsibility for supporting learners across Sparkhill’s programmes in understanding the assignment submission process, accessing their results, and navigating academic processes including credit retrieval or application for recognition of Extenuating Circumstances. Maintenance of the Assessments Team station at the Sparkhill Help Desk will be an essential part of this, as will termly classroom visits. You will be expected to provide consistently high-quality support and guidance to students and to work to the Birmingham Learning Centre’s ongoing, three-term system rather than to the traditional academic year.

  Requirements

You will need to have:

  • Previous experience in coordinating administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience coordinating assessments
  • Good level of understanding of the key requirements of GDPR
  • IT literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
