01125 - Principal Administrative Officer (Institute of Education and Humanities)

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the post of Principal Administrative Officer (Administration) within the Institute of Education and Humanities, based at our Swansea campus. The ability to communicate and work through the medium of Welsh is essential for this post.
This is a key administrative post within the administrative structure of the Institute. We are looking for someone who is highly skilled in administrative work and who can develop and promulgate good practice in academic administration.
You will manage the day-to-day operation of the Institute administrative service, co-ordinating and line-managing the central administrative team. You will support the PAO (QA) with administration arrangements for Examining Boards, programme validation, monitoring and review, and other key committees.
You will work with the Principal Administrative Officers of other Institutes to optimise the use of resources and facilitate the provision of a high quality, bilingual, effective and efficient administrative service across the institution.
You will also work closely with Registry, and develop and maintain links with other support units such as the Postgraduate Research Office, the Academic Office, the Marketing, Communications and International Units. We are looking from someone with a team-focused and collaborative approach, in which customer needs and service delivery are prioritised. You should have some previous experience of working in a management capacity.
- Salary: £30,942 - £34,804 per annum
- 28 days annual leave per year (plus 8 bank holidays & 4 University closure days)

You will need to be educated to degree level (or equivalent). You should also have:
- Previous experience in providing high quality administrative support
- Effective organisational skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Experience of financial / budget management and oversight
- Ability to apply attention to detail
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent IT skills
- Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh – oral and written
