Lisa Ellis BA (Hons)
Academic Liaison Librarian
Location: Swansea/ Carmarthen
BA (Hons) Library & Information Management
As the Academic Liaison Librarian for the Institute of Management and Health at Swansea and Carmarthen campuses, I help develop curriculum focused digital and information literacy skills as part of the academic liaison team. I provide resources support and advice for the design, planning, validation, delivery, and review of the IMH courses and programmes.
I support IMH students and staff in the use of library resources, including the use of academic databases, accessing online resources, search skills, literature searching, and referencing, via taught sessions, one-to-one appointments, drop-in, or online via Teams or email.
I began my career in libraries 15 years ago, in 2006, after holding various positions in retail, the NHS and banking. I completed my library qualification part-time as a mature student whilst working as a library officer, then advisor in Further Education. During my time as an advisor, I helped create and develop the information literacy skills programme and supported a range of students undertaking a variety of qualifications, including A-Levels, Extended Project Qualification, Access to Higher Education and Degrees. I joined UWTSD In April 2021 as the Academic Liaison Librarian for the Institute of Management.
I also have responsibility for accessibility and inclusion within the LLR.
My professional interests include information seeking behaviour, motivation, literacies, and learning.
